Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 3, 2026
We do not track you. DraftRedactor runs its core OCR engines entirely on-device. For AI processing, you can use local Vision-Language Models (VLMs) like Ollama so your sensitive data never leaves your Mac or private network. If you choose to configure external cloud LLMs (such as Gemini or OpenAI), securing that data is your responsibility. We strongly suggest using paid API keys and reviewing the privacy and security settings of your chosen provider. Zero telemetry from us.
1. Data Collection
DraftRedactor does not collect any data. We do not collect analytics, telemetry, usage metrics, or any personal information. There are no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no third-party data services in this application.
2. Data Processing
By default, computing happens on your device. When you import a PDF, generate an overlay, or use OCR, these operations are performed locally using the Apple Metal engine and CoreML. If you configure a local VLM (like Ollama), processing remains within your device or private network. If you explicitly configure third-party cloud LLMs (such as OpenAI or Google Gemini), document data required for AI analysis will be transmitted to those providers under their respective privacy policies. We do not intercept or store this transmitted data.
3. No Account Required
DraftRedactor is a freemium application. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we store your email address or personal information. Your purchase is managed entirely by the Apple App Store.
4. Data Storage
We do not maintain a backend database for user documents. All files are stored in your device's local file system (Sandbox). We do not have access to your files.
5. Crash Reports
Apple may collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostics through its standard mechanisms (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). These reports are sent to Apple and shared with developers in aggregate form. You can opt out of this at any time via your device settings. DraftRedactor itself does not collect or transmit crash data independently.
6. Your Rights Under California Law (CCPA/CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Because DraftRedactor does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information, these rights are inherently satisfied. We do not maintain consumer profiles, and there is no personal information for us to disclose, delete, or correct. If you have questions about your rights, please contact us at support@draftplanar.com.
7. Your Rights Under EU/EEA Law (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants you rights regarding your personal data, including the right of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
DraftRedactor does not process any personal data. All operations occur locally on your device. No data is transmitted to us or to any third-party servers. As a result, no legal basis for data processing (such as consent or legitimate interest) is required, and no international data transfers take place. If you have any questions, contact us at support@draftplanar.com.
8. Children's Privacy
DraftRedactor is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because DraftRedactor collects no personal information from any user, we are in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@draftplanar.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify you through the App Store update notes. Your continued use of DraftRedactor after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
