Email is not an encrypted communication channel and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted this way. Send only what is necessary to describe your issue — device model, OS version, and a brief description are usually sufficient.

How-To Guides

Measure on a Drawing

  1. 1.Open a PDF and tap the Ruler icon in the toolbar.
  2. 2.Set the scale by measuring a known dimension (e.g. a door width) and entering its real-world value.
  3. 3.Tap two or more points to measure distances. DraftPlanar will snap to line intersections and endpoints automatically.
  4. 4.Long-press a measurement to copy the value or delete it.

Clear the Cache

  1. 1.Open DraftPlanar and go to Settings (gear icon).
  2. 2.Scroll down to Storage and tap "Clear Cache".
  3. 3.This removes temporary render tiles and OCR data. Your documents and annotations are never deleted.

Change the Theme

  1. 1.Go to Settings → Appearance.
  2. 2.Choose between Light, Dark, or System (follows your device setting).
  3. 3.You can also adjust the canvas background independently — useful for viewing white drawings in dark mode.

Compare Drawing Revisions

  1. 1.Open two versions of a drawing in DraftPlanar.
  2. 2.Tap the Compare icon in the toolbar to enter comparison mode.
  3. 3.Use the overlay slider to blend between revisions, or toggle the difference highlight to instantly spot changes.

Search Text with OCR

  1. 1.Open a PDF and tap the Search icon.
  2. 2.DraftPlanar runs on-device OCR to index all text — even in scanned or rasterized drawings.
  3. 3.Type your query and results highlight directly on the drawing with page navigation.

Is DraftPlanar free?
DraftPlanar is free to download. PDF viewing and basic markup are free. Professional tools — Measure, Compare, Search, and Export — are unlocked with a DraftPlanar Pro subscription.
Does DraftPlanar upload my files to the cloud?
No. DraftPlanar is built on a Local-First philosophy. All documents and processing stay on your device. We never upload your files to external servers.
Which devices are supported?
DraftPlanar runs natively on macOS, iPad, and iPhone. It's built with Apple Metal for GPU-accelerated rendering on all platforms.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open DraftPlanar → Settings → Restore Purchases. Your subscription is managed by the Apple App Store and can be restored on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed via the App Store. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device to manage or cancel your DraftPlanar subscription.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email us at support@draftplanar.com with a description of the issue, the device and OS version you're using, and steps to reproduce. Screenshots or screen recordings are always helpful.
I have a copyright or DMCA concern. What should I do?
DraftPlanar is an offline document viewer — we do not host, store, or distribute any user content. If you have a copyright concern related to files on your own device, please contact the original source of the document. For any other copyright inquiries, email us at support@draftplanar.com.
What happens to my personal information if I email support?
If you contact us at support@draftplanar.com, we may receive personal information you choose to include (such as your name, email address, or screenshots). We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. We never sell, share, or use it for marketing. All support correspondence is deleted once your issue is resolved. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@draftplanar.com.
How does DraftPlanar handle GDPR and CCPA data requests?
The DraftPlanar app does not collect or process any personal data — all operations occur locally on your device. The only personal data we may hold is information you voluntarily send us via email (name, email address, attachments). You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of this data at any time by emailing support@draftplanar.com. We will respond within 30 days.
